About Us

I am Jake Gariepy, a designer, illustrator and writer living with my family in an old farmhouse outside of Eugene, Oregon.  I've been happily married to my wonderful wife Melissa for nearly twenty-five years.  We have eight fabulous children - one daughter and seven sons - as well as a delightful granddaughter named Violet.  Melissa is a dollmaker and we love to work together on all kinds home decorating and gardening projects.  We also make sure that we never end the day without watching at least one episode of a British crime drama...  Life can't ALL be sunshine, can it?

My art is found on products sold at places including The White House Historical Association, The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library, James Monroe's Highland, The Calvin Coolidge Historic Site and The National First Ladies Library.  I also draw scores of house portraits for individuals and real estate professionals every year.

I've included a list of things that inspire us below.  Maybe you share some of those same interests?  It's only a partial list...  Everyday brings a new discovery!

We hope that you'll find Dapper and Dreamy to be a place of inspiration, new ideas and lots of fun!

  1. Jake -- When I read "What Inspires Us or... Things We Love!" and "Links Coming Soon" I have to wonder if we were separated at birth!

    1. I think Jake is my long lost cousin......some of us went West and some went East.

  2. I saw your work on a thank you note from the Gerald R. Ford Museum of a dress Mrs. Ford wore in The White House and wondered how I can order from you if I not a retail person and if you have a minimum order?
